Hello guys. Any MCP or MCDBA out there?

I am basically ready for my first exam (70-228) towards certification. I did a test exam and scored 76% but I am not sure if that is a pass. What is the minimum for those exams?

Also I am ready to purchase some more questions, anybody out there knows where to get a bunch of free ones?

Thank you.

PS: I am scared to death, fretting.

I don't think I will ever be ready for this! I have never scored more than that...I am trying to buy more questions from Boson Software but the transaction never goes through...They are cheaper but the bad thing is it's a single-pc license.

Thanks Bill.

Don't stress, the test questions are harder than the real ones.

Simon.

Ah, thank you very much. I hope you are talking from experience. But I am spending a lot of money on this and really would like to pass at least the Administration and Design and become MCP, then I will take my time with the rest.

Where can I buy some more questions?

Thanks again.

I have found from past experience the tests are CAT based ... computer-adaptive test. That means if you are asked a question and you know it ... the test material changes focus and a new area is asked.

If you do not answer a question correctly, another question is poised with the same type of information being asked. So if the test for example asks you "What ports does SQL Server listen on" and you answer it wrong, it may ask another question on TCPIP or port settings.

SO if you have a weak area, it will hammer on you until you answer it right or fail the test.

FUN FUN FUN !!! LOL

Thanks

Thanks. I need to work more on linked servers, data transformation and the fancy stuff which nobody uses like XML, etc.

Check the link I posted. Practice exams are mentioned.

yeah I had a few xml type questions in my exam, also make sure that you know the syntax of things like the update statment exactly because in the test they present you with different options, all with subtle differences.
