Hi,
I just saw in the FSCK PASS column of /etc/vfstab file some values greater than 1 like(2,3,4,5) and wanted to get more details on it.

Any help to provide such information will be helpful to me.

Thanks,
Mukesh

This is the number used by "fsck" to decide whether to check the filesystem automatically. (from "man "pages)

Mike, I think what nishailaura is asking is whether the numbers 3,4,5 in vfstab actually mean anything. I must admit I don't know the answer as in my experience I've only ever seen s 1's and 2's. Anyone else?

numbers greater than 1 are used by the fsck -preen option to run fsck in parallel.
