hi i have a 19 pc's with either xp pro or home. Is there a limit to the amount of members i can have in a peer to peer network? I have heard that peer to peer is ok for networks that have about 10 pc's. I just thought i would ask here first

thanks

The controlling limit would be your IP subnet mask, and the administrative issues posed by large workgroups. Indirectly, Netbios name resolution is chatty, so large peer-2-peer networks under Windows are chatty. But the direct answer to your question is No, there is not a limit other than the RAM+virtual memory on the Master Browser(s). The true limits are practical, rather than theoretical.

Under XP Pro, however, you are limited to 10 sessions with other workstations for shares that you host. The limit for XP Home is 5 sessions. A session is not what you might think: I can map three drive letters and two printers from a client to an XP Host but it counts as one session:
