what is the little screen which pops & takes commands?

It's activated using the button for lower left of my powermac 7100/OS 8.5.1..


also, what's the best way to prevent the wrist watch traveling around the clock w/o resetting the system?

the only command I ever found for that box is g for go

command option escape alows you to kill the currently running job
