When an exam is retired does it just mean you can no longer take it?

Also I am close to MCDBA 2000.
If the MCDBA exams are retired before I take the new SQL 2005 upgrade exams, will I lose the upgrade option?

Yes - it it's retired, you can no longer take it.

Not sure about the upgrade option, but I would assume yes, you'd lose the option.

If the MCDBA exams for SQL 2000 retaire before you finish the MCDBA then yes, you loose the option to upgrade because you can not get an MCDBA.

If you already have your MCDBA and then they retire you can still upgrade.
