Redhat 9 is no more suppoerted. So for persomal computer users, which linux distribution shall I take to get better support?

Better Support"? You may need to describe your expectations. RH9 has been unsupported for 9 months now. Fedora project is sort of RedHat's successor to their free distribution. They obviously also provide the Enterprise product line for a fee which buys you support.

I also believe that Suse does a fee-based support model.

HOWEVER, that all being said: Fedora, Mandrake, Slackware, Debian, and the other free distros are all well supported by their communities and general communities like this one.

You need to define what kind of support to require, that'll make your decision for you.
