what is the equivlent of .bash_history on slackware?

locate bash_history on slackware returns nothing.

Are you certain you are useing bash, to begin with?

AFAIK the history file is set through the HISTFILE environment variable. Do a 'set' or 'echo $HISTFILE' to see where the file is written.

Is there a way where I can be in and have my command NOT logged to .bash_history?

does it log unset HISTFILE ?

How to I re enble it? Just be logging out and then back in?

HISTFILE is set at login, thus logging in again re-enables it. Doing 'unset HISFILE' is not logged in the history file. Try it...

Help!! Its loggin me...
978 exit
979 unset HISTFILE
980 tail -100 history
981 history
982 man unset
983 unset histfile
984 history
985 unset HISTFILE
986 history

Got any tips?
