Hi all,

I need a little help. I'm new to Flash having only used it for a couple of months, during which time I have been working really hard to create a nice looking site with a small file size. I have managed to complete much of it and kept the file size as listed in the profiler to 47k. With much dismay however, I have just noticed that under the state heading in the profiler, that the file size is 100k. When i publish my movie the swf file is 47k. If i use the show streaming feature it simulates downloading the 100k file size - whats going on here?
Can someone please help and explain this - I have searched the net and help files for a discription but to no avail.
Thanks for any help you can give - even more so if you tell me that the 47k is the right one - I'm gonna be gutted if its a 100k!!!!!!
Anyway - thanks :)

As a follow up - if it helps to clarify my problem - try loading up the drawing.fla file in the flash mx samples folder. In the bandwidth profiler, the file size is about 10k but under that in the state box, it says the size is 16k...?

If you're talking MX, there's a problem with the profiler not displaying the actual movie size, if you've used the "compress movie" feature. Regards,

Thanks for your help :)

I have just tried unselecting the compress move and then publish and my movie is now 100k as listed under state in the profiler. I take it then from what you said that the problem with mx in the profiler is that the size of the movie under the state heading gives the uncompressed size of the movie rather than the compressed size as it should???
Just to clarify - my compressed movie is 49k - this is the size that would download to peoples pc's - not the uncompressed 100k???
Thanks again for your help :)

Paul.
