What is the difference between ccna, ccnp, ccsp, etc?

simply put.

CCNA is the foundation certificate, thus most basic.

CCNP is professional level, one level higher than CCNA. It is general professional cisco certification.
CCSP is professional level also, but it's special certification where its knowledge focuses specifically towards Network Security.

CCIE is expert level (highest), is also general cisco certifications which branches off into 3 or 4 different specialties.

Associate level is most easiest to obtain (CCNA)
then Professional level is intermediate (CCNP, CCSP, etc)
Expert level is most difficult (CCIE).
