Hi all,

I'm trying to check which disks are striped and what the stripe size is on them, but I don't know the command I should use to check it, any help is appreciated. I'm striping logical volumes. I can run "lslv {lvname}" and see the stripe size and width, but there are a couple of lv's that don't report that way, but looking at "lslv -m {lvname}" the output looks like the disks are striped and not mirrored. I just want to verify it if there is a command I can run to check it. Thanks for the help [sig]
Jon Zimmer
b0rg@pcgeek.net
<a href= Aetea Information Technology
The software required `Windows 95 or better', so I installed Linux.
hi
As per my own experience if u have implemented Raid5 i.e stripe set
with parity on ssa disks and then execute lslv lvname against lvs present
in vg comprising of those disks u dont get any stripe size info.
As i understand ur question u have spread pps belonging to an lv across
different pvs......if this is the case problem may lie in the policy used to
create that lv(each lp copy to seprate PV may be set to no).
use lspv hdisk, lslv -m lvname and lsvg vgname to explore what u want
to know.u can additionally use fileplace command to have a more
closer view.
Hope it works

Thanks, that helps, though there doesn't seem to be a command to look specifically at striping on a system, correct? If you use [tt]lslv lvname[/tt] and it reports stripping, then use [tt]lslv -m lvname[/tt] to see disks comprising the stripes...

I hope it works... [sig][/sig]
