Word documents etc.? I want to sign a piece a paper have it scanned and save as tiff format maybe? But it looks jaggedy and I notice other people who use their signature on docs that looks crips and without flaws. Please tell me what programs to use and what format is the ideal one. Thanks in advance.

In order to obtain crisp lines and curves you'll probably want to save the image in a vector format (such as WMF or EPS). Tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel draw should be able to help you with this.

Vector is nice but you can still get good results if you improve your bitmap resolution.

Scan you signature at a high resolution (like 600 dpi) and as grayscale. Clean it up in Photoshop by playing with the levels (CTRL-L or CMD-L). Convert the mode to bitmap and save as a TIFF or whatever.

Hi,

I did this once a while back. I got a piece of paper and signed a whole sized page 8.5*11 inch with a thick pen on bright white paper then scanned it in at 1200 DPI. Then I got rid of the background using color range and quick mask then shrunk the image down (but not too much) and saved it as a .png.

Then when I was in word I imported the png from file and made it the size that I needed it to be and it turned out very crisp and clean.

Hope this helps!
