We have been using Networker to backup Netware 5.0 & 5.1 for nearly six months. It's performance has been pretty good, but we experience an occasional issue with a Networker NLM not releasing a resource or some similar issue that causes and Abend of the client (usually at the start of a scheduled backup).
Be aware that Legato accidentaly screwed Networker when releasing 6.0, inasmuch as no Netware backups could be done at all, and it wasn't until the hastily-released 6.0.1 was available that Netware clients could continue to be backed up. I don't believe 6.0 is even available on their ftp site anymore.
Additionally, restores of a Netware client must be done from the client, and cannot be performed from the server. We knew this up front, and were willing to live with it.
Right now, we're backing up around 130 Netware Servers (4.11, 5.0, and 5.1) to Networker running on Unix, and although it's not BULLETPROOF, we consider it a successful enterprise solution.
