I was given a list of names and the user wants me to match on account name against our DB2 back end. I havent done a name match in ages....whats the best approach.

hi,

Is this an MS Access question? If so, use one of the many MS Access forums that you have posted in.

If not, what application? Presumably, Excel, then you can use MS Query with a LIST or an ADO in database function which I often employ.

You'll 1) get better results AND 2) inform other members browsing the Access forums for information, by posting such questions in MS Access forums.

Sure, you could get MS Access answers here, but for BOTH reasons above, please pursue "the better way". "Thought I speak with the tongues of..." [tongue]
