What is the API to reference Network settings?

I want to find an API or series of API's that I can reference to draw out current network info. (ie IP address, login name, gateway, etc.) This is for use in a login script. I am trying to simplify (read shorten) the login process. I would then use the values the API generates to populate a comma delimited file or possibly a spreadsheet.
