Well it finally happened, picked up an IPO base and external module, my other stock is gone and I have no "official" blue cable to bridge the base mod with a dig phone mod. Can anyone run a quick cable checker test on one of the official cables and see if it resembles a straight thru Ethernet, Crossover, or other? Thanks much!

I would only use it temporarily until you can get the correct cable from Avaya. You can use a standard Cat5E patch cord but there is a good chance you will run in to problems with phones plugged in to the expansion module, also Avaya wont support it. If you have problems the first thing they will tell you is get the correct interconnect cable.

The Blue interconnect cable provided with the expansion modules is sheilded. If you look at the ends, there is metal sheilding around the RJ45 ends.

When it is shielded then it is not a standard cat 5 cable
I would use a Cat 6 shielded cable temporarly !!!

Very strange things happen when you do not use the original cable !!!

Cat5 shielded maiximum length one meter color does not matter but i prefer pink;)

Great thanks, will order up an exact replacement. The 3' 5e did work, I only used it in the lab to update the os, but for production will get the right one.
