I am using Apache on Win2000Pro and I was wondering how to get a mail server going. I got the hosting thing figured out, but is adding the capability of POP3 and STMP something that can be done with Apache, or is it another application, or do I have to get another machine in here? If it is an application that can be run on the same machine, is it open source, and where can I get it?

Thanks!

Apache does web stuff -- it doesn't do email. So you will need another program.

Whether that program runs on your current W2K box or on another is up to you. There are lots of good, free email servers out there, however the many of the most popular, sendmail, qmail and postfix, don't run on Win32.

Also, Mail Enable Pro is free and easy to use, has aliases and group functions, multiple domains, etc.
