In system and network administration, we usually set up failover to ensure high availability in order that one server or connection is down, a redundant device will be up automatically to provide same services.

I wonder whether there is similar solution of failover for MITEL IP phone system or other IP phone system? Because recently we have a hardisk failure of SX200 ICP, and it caused that for almost half a day we can not use phones.

What is your company's preparations for failover issue of IP phone system? Welcome any response, info, idea and examples. Thanks very much.

Resiliancy is not an available option on 200ICP> This feature is available on the 3300 ICP and is a purchasable option.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

nytalkin, Agreed on the SX200 but it is not a "Purchasable Option" on the 3300. At MCD 4.1 you don't even require licensing on the 2nd controller. Hardware costs only.

So it means that we have to upgrade to MCD 4.1?

MCD 4.1 is on the 3300.

As stated earlier, the SX200 does not have resiliency.

You would have to replace the controller with a 3300 to get resiliency.

Don't forget the 3300 MXe also has dual power supply options Raid hard drive option and 2 NIC ports plus the T1/E1 combo card coupled with the now free resiliency option make the 3300 pretty robust in terms of failover
