If I am using the Overwrite feature, why am I getting failures where the media is marked as None in the Append Time column?

Have you tried setting the Append period to "Infinite"? If you use the Overwrite setting for a job, it will only attempt to overwrite the media in the drive, and will fail if the media is overwrite-protected (even if it has available append time or space left on it).
