What is qksrv.net??? Please advice. Thx. 1

Hi all,

I have been seeing alot of links that look something like this listed in Google "

http://qksrv.net/12345-67892".

When you click on it, it redirects to another site... Some of those pages with that weird url has pretty high rankings too... what is qksry.net??? Is it a legitimate way to rank high in search engines???

Please advice.

That's an affiliate link run by (from memory) Commission Junction. Nothing at all to do with search engine ranking.

You'll see them all over the place, and in different forms - Linkshare I believe use

http://www.linksynergy....

If you're not familiar with affiliate programmes, basically Website A signs up as an affiliate of Website B (say Amazon for example), then Website A places promotional links from their site to Website B, and gets a percentage cut of sales generated from those referrals from his site to Website B.

I have to stop doing ten things at once..

Commission Junction and Linkshare, Befree, et al, are affiliate networks that bring together merchants and affiliates.... hence the qksrv redirect - the link goes via CJ's server so they can track the clicks, etc.

There are also plenty of independant merchants around where you sign up direct with them (not through a network) and your clicks, etc, are recorded by the merchant. As an affiliate you need to be particularly confident you are dealing with an honest merchant with this set up.
