I hope so that u would have got information by now, but more info can be got at or

Ok, in breif i would only explain in a manner in which u try to make the other application understand the information of the requested application. Basically, it is used for Transformation purpose.
About where they are using it, u can have check of certain big companies like Nestle, Cadbuary, even the Sky Cable N/w.
