I have windows 2000 server, every thing was wroking fine but today our server is working very slow, and i check the task manager, and found that the file Inetinfo.exe is taking 98% of CPU process, our network is working very slow.
Inetinfo.exe is the Internet information service.
It sometimes gets out of control on our server as well when it is under heavy load, restarting the service seems to reset it to normal of course this will temporarily cut web users off!
BY the way, Windows 2000 installs IIS by default. If that server is not functioning as a web server or an FTP server, you should disable the World Wide Web service, the IIS Admin Service, and the FTP service. This should eliminate your performance issues and close some very easily hack holes in your security of that server. Hope this helps.
