Hi,

Quick newbie question. I have to interpret a white paper for a completely non-technical audience. I'm familiar with most of the terms used, but one I don't know:

"Leveraging the SNMP Trap Generator can potentially reduce the licensing costs and database overhead of managing printing devices directly from another ESM application."

Can anyone tell me what ESM stands for this in context?

Any and all help much appreciated.

Thanks

ESM = Embedded System Management

(Google: ESM snmp)

I did google "ESM snmp", but embedded system management didn't seem to fit with what was being talked about in the white paper.

In the end, it turns out that it just stood for Enterprise System Management (so HP Openview,IBM Tivoli and so on). Just a marketing term.
