What is equivalant to oracle's to_date() in DB2

Hi,
I need to insert a date which will be available in Eur format. ie. dd.mm.yyyy .
How can i do it?
I need some thing similar oracle to_date(...) function where we can specify the format also.
If the input is in dd/mm/yyyy , how to insert that?
