hello all!
i want to know difference between hard disk and disk-based backup solutions and why i shouldn't use from hard disk as a backup place stead of disk-based backup solutions?
please guide me with your opinions.

Hi asredanesh,

Hard disk backup and disk-based backup is the same solution. On both you would be backing up to a hard drive or series of hard drives. If I am misunderstanding your question can you elaborate more?

You also have some virtual tape solutions that are disk based...

You also can use some "raw" disk space as a backup medium, like the maglibs in Commvault Simpana.

Maybe that's the difference you are looking for.
