What is clock drift?

I am having problems with various 2000 series phones after a 25.40b to Succ. 3.0 upgrade. Phones are making loud pitch noise whether on or off hook. I read a thread earlier about upgrade problems and saw clock drift on 2000 series sets, what is that?

clock drift is where the clocks on the sets don't match each other, one says 10:42, the one beside it says 11:01. that was caused by lamp audit being off in ld 77

Is this a common problem after the upgrade?

i haven't read about that problem after an upgrade, clock drift didn't show up on my switch until rls 3

Nortel's suggested fix is to Install Patch MPLR17694.

i talked to nortel and they said the patch had not been written a week ago, thanks for the feedback
