I do not know of any exact links, but when i need something i either search support.avaya.com or here. When i started 4 months ago i knew absolutely nothing about phone systems. My supervisor gave me a copy of Definity Systems Little Instruction Box. It contains three books that tell you the basics of Avaya Definity systems. I also use the help key alot in the terminal to see the options i have when entering something i do not know. If you need anything else feel free to ask.
Thanks, William ! More than anything, I was looking for a line by line description of the fields. I too have enjoyed the references you suggested, but I've yet to find that specific link with line by line explanation.
Did you receive the user documentation on CD rom. IF so Load it on your system and use the search feature. This works well. If you don't have the CD go to your account reps and ask for them. I use it daily. I come to a section on the form I don't understand I cut and paste in to the search feature.
Depending on your system, What you are looking for is a pdf called "Administration & Feature Description." This coupled with a little experience will get you a long way.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to download ALL the documentation that they carry for your particular switch.
The little book series is a great tool to get started with. You can download them at the above Avaya site. It starts with basic admin and goes on from there.
Administration & Feature Description." are good to find information on forms on adment fields, but sometimes u have to go to the "Installation and Maintenance" books to find the meaning on some of the fields. It is best to use the cdroms that Avaya provides, but if u use support.avaya.com , then it is best to search with google rather than the avaya search or just looking around. The Avaya site is very very slow and has problems that they don't seem to want to fix. That is why using the cdroms is a good idea.
If u want the best training on Avaya, they have training on cdrom that u can jump around and learn what ever u need. Last time I checked, they were very expensive though.
