I have an Avaya CM6.2 system. For the last 8 years or so, I've been buying the Avaya 6200 series analog phones (6211 or 6221), whenever I need a basic phone. They're universally useful as an analog set-- more modern looking than the basic black 500 analog sets, and they work on desktops or wallmount, and have message lights and volume controls. I can use them in common areas, for an intern, or on the factory floor.
BUT my phone vendor says they're discontinued and supply is running out. (My primary vendor doesn't have any. My backup vendor wants $200 for a 6211 (I last paid $65)). They tried to sell me some old Lucent 9101 analog sets, but they're oddball. The labels are in Italian, they don't have volume controls (which is essential in loud environments), and they're supposed to be able to wallmount, there's no recessed hole to allow for the jack, so they won't hang on ANY of our existing wallplates (unless you don't actually plug it in).
I went to Avaya.com, but I can't find evidence on their product pages that they make ANY straight analog phones.
Am I missing something? Does Avaya have a new analog series and I'm just not seeing it? If they've abandoned analog sets, what phones are YOU buying?
I'm not going to abandon analog, where it is most appropriate to use it. In offices, we have 8410D and 2410 digital, and a smattering of old 7400 series sets that refuse to breakdown. I'll be able to buy 8410D phones until the heat death of the universe, but Avaya analog sets are suddenly gone. I'm a bit perplexed.
