How do i set one up in nt4, and what are the benefits of using this function, should i not just use wins instead

Generally, you're best off just using WINS. If for some reason you wanted to force which DC the machine with the LMHOSTS file on it was authenticating to, you could do so using LMHOSTS. Marc Creviere

Go to your Winnt directory, system32\drivers\etc\ and read the lmhost.sam file it will give you what your asking for.
