Looking for an explanation terms middle management can understand

In layman terms I would just tell them that it is another carrier cabinet that enables the use of more boards with varying features for digital/analog lines, DS1 interfaces, IP prowler cards, announcements.....
 
Or in laymans terms just another cabinet that can be connected to the Processor Network (the cabinet with the brain that tells the system that it is NOT a coffee machine) via a fiber-optic cable.
And so it expands your capabilities for adding cards and simultanious conversations.
