I am new to database and i was using stored procedures when somebody suggested
using a view instead of a stored procedure?

Anybody care to explain what a view is and what is the difference between that and a stored procedure

Thanks

Hi,

View is another way of looking at data stored in tables. You can filter the columns which are not required to be displayed and avoids joining tables to see the data. Views cannot manipulate data where as stored procedures cannot be used to manipulate data stored in tables.

Hope this helps.
