I get this question: what is a hop?; and I didn't know the answer.
Can you help me?

A hop is the number of internal and external bridges and routers
between a client and the server, or how many devices data encounters between a client and the server. The time it takes to make a hop is expressed in ticks.

As an example of what Visitor is saying, if you tracert to an IP address or website, it will list each router until it reaches the destination. Each of these is a hop. [sig][/sig]
