I am trying to get a form to email from a webpage. I am using <form...bla bla bla>

It's sending the form contents, but it's sending it as a .ATT attachment. Why?

I've done this before, and it worked great. Now it doesn't want to work....help!?!

IE 6
IE 5.5 Hope I was of some help...

You need a cgi script or a PHP script (asp, jsp also) so that the script knows to use your Web server's SMTP service instead of going through a persons web browser.

There are several good formail CGI scripts you can use as WizyWig notes. A popular one is from Matt's Archive. But... my ISP has banned the use of scripts from Matt's archive because they are "buggy" and allow others to use your formmail script without you knowing it.

Not saying his stuff is good or bad, just noting what one ISP has found.

There's always a better way...

tviman,

The security issues with Formmail are resolved in an updated version.

The guys still being used as open relays can't blame anyone other than themselves as they have not upgraded.

Hope this helps Wullie
