And where exactly are these folders used? Can I safely delete them? What should I take into consideration if I do? And I also have a folder called NTADMIN? Two people share this intranet web site, and there are 39 sub-folders under and I know we can probably delete about 30 because they are outdated information and there are not any links to them from the home page, but I talked to the other guy who said we should leave them alone, because no one knows what is being used.

So any information on the above folders will be helpful, because I fully intend on cleaning up this 300 mb web site with 10,069 files. I would love to be able to see which folders get hit in the next three months, and start working from there. is there a way to do that?

_vti... a function of FrontPage. If you are running a Frontpage web these directories are needed for web to function properly.

You can check your log files for statistics (w3svc.....) However, it's raw data you may need to run some program for better viewing of data. WebTrends is a good application for displaying stastical data - don't know of any freeware...

Thanks! I personally do not use front page, (don't like the code it makes) but other people around me do. That's probably why they show up randomishly on certain sites I work on...
