Hello.
I tried to find answar about my problem, but it is not easy.
I hope it is alright place to ask.

I have 3 3com 4500 switches and fibre optic connection between them.
For example: SW1 has fibre optic connection straight to SW2 and SW3.

Switches has 2 vlans

SW1
vlan 1: 192.168.10.0/24
*vlan 2: 100.100.100.0/23
SW2
vlan 1: 192.168.10.0/24
*vlan 2: 100.100.100.0/23
SW3
vlan 1: 192.168.10.0/24
*vlan 2: 100.100.100.0/23

I want to reset the switches to default factory settings and re-configure the switches to be one vlan for alle ports and a normal switch.

Will the fibre optic connection between the switches work normally after reset the switches?
What should I do before reset?
If I do not reset, but I turn vlan 1 off. Will vlan 2 work for all ports?
please tell me what I should do.

Thanks.

Regards
Tri

if layer1 doesn't change the 3coms will negotiate auto trunks after they come up for the connections between the switches.
that said, NO you have to allow vlans to go over the trunks. and you have to put the ports into the vlan you want for normal users. ... use the GUI .. you can select all at the same time and put em in vlan 2 or w/e it is you want to do ...

We must go always forward, not backward
always up, not down and always twirling twirling towards infinity.
