What happens whtn the power goes out

Can we still make and recieve calls?

The manual says that the first two lines will connect to the first two extensions but that I need a single line phone.

Does this mean that I have to plug a couple POTS phones into the phone switch during a power outage or will the 34D and 18D phones work?

when the power fails,
if you plug a single line phone into ext 10 port(or replace the system phone with analog phone), it will give you line 1.
extension 11 will be line 2.
