Hello I am making a Flash web site and I was wondering what happens if a browser does not have the software to view flash pages.
Does the person get an automnatic message that asks them if they want to download the software necessay?
Or do I have to put some kind of code in the page so that when they reach my page it will detect if they need shockwave flash and ask them to download it?

Yours Respectfully

as much as i remember i experienced that the space where the movie should be loaded just remains white. maybe you give the user a hint that a flash plugin is required to view your site and put a link to the download location of the plugin. on you'll get some further info on where you can find the plugin. there are also some buttons that you can implement in your site so that an original (and legal) macromedia button provides the download of the plugin.
furthermore it may make sense to put a mini-film on the site containing just one frame and tell the user that if he can see the graphik all settings and plugins are allright and that he sould download the required software if he couldn't see the button.
