What happened with RBLs yesterday?

I've got two clients running MS Exchange that use SpamHaus and SpamCop to filter incoming email. Neither of them could receive email from just about anybody yesterday. We disabled the filters and everything started flowing again.

When checking their IPs at MXToolbox, it looked like a lot of the RBL services were timing out. Was there something big going on yesterday?

Didn't these get discontinued in about 2006? I used to use GFi to look at these services for RBLs but I stopped ages ago as it just wasn't being maintained.

Spamhaus is still in full operation...never used Spamcop so I can't comment about them. I use SpamHaus still.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!
