Hi Guys,

I have a sun server (V240) with 2 LP8000 FC cards and PowerPath 3.0.4 using 3 LUNs (0, 1 and 2)... all right.

The problems was that after a microcode upgrade on the FC4700 box, the emcpower devices where pointing to the wrong LUN!! so, before the change emcpower devices were:

c3t0d0 -- emcpower0c
c3t0d1 -- emcpower1c
c3t0d2 -- emcpower2c

After the ucode upgrade, devices were:

c3t0d0 -- emcpower2c
c3t0d1 -- emcpower1c
c3t0d2 -- emcpower0c

(Note the difference in emcpower0c and 2c)

Obviously, when the filesystem were mounted we saw the error. The problem was solved inmediatly, by recreating the emcpower devices... but my question (and this post) is:

What the hell went wrong? what happened?

Anyone saw a case like this one?

Best regards.

No, they are not.
The issue is that the volumes are seem as they were, I mean:

old C3t0d0 is now c3t0d0
old C3t0d1 is now c3t0d1
old C3t0d2 is now c3t0d2

as you can see, old devs are the same as devs after code upgrade... Anyway, powerpath should not be changed by itself.

Cheers.
