Hi all,
So I decided to trust Microsoft and I installed IE8 on pure faith that it would be better. Right off the bat it appears to have either removed or hidden the Ctrl-F "find-on-page" capability, which had become a must-have for me.

Can anyone tell me if it still has that feature? I looked on Microsoft's site and couldn't find it...however I did find it troubling that the #1 question on their site was "How do I uninstall IE8?".
Thanks,
--Jim

Perhaps you have a customised version of IE 8 installed that has this removed?

I've got an out-of-the-box IE8 installation, and if I visit wait for the page to load, and then press Ctrl+F, I see a 'Find' box appear under the 'Google' tab.

Yup same for me - it doesn't pop up in a new widow anymore (why keep it the same?) but in its owm toolbar area at teh top of the screen.

D'OH!! Yep, I had been looking in the upper-right corner where the separate Find dialog always had appeared--in ie8 I now see it integrated in the toolbar. Sorry for the alarm, I'm good to go!

Not sure why I thought it should pop up in a widow!
