What happened to boot loader? Grub?

Hi
I was trying to change my debian boot, along with ( 2 ) win 7 menu longhorn choices in my notebook hp dv4 pavalion notebook pc ( that makes 3 OS systems in one notebook ),
using grub loader! But yesterday something happened & my grub boot loader disappeared!!! It would be nice to have win 7 as the first choice & 2nd choice win 7 (2nd) & last choice debian to boot from grub. How can I go & change grub menu options?

I am unable to see or browse through grub menu from windows?
I loaded gparted cd & got into x terminal, & was unable to edit or go into grub/menu.lst,
but the linux-swap partition is viewable from here along with windows partitions. But I can't find boot loader?

Common problem. You need a live linux CD to reinstall grub for your system.

Instructions here:
Boot From CD
open a terminal
Establish location of linux system partition,
mount that system
become root
mount the system device and change root to that device
(you are now root within your installed system)
Install grub bootloader to the hard disk
close the console and reboot.

Grub menu should come up, with the Windows bootloaders chain loaded

boot back to linux and edit your Menu.lst
