I have placed this inquiry in this forum twice and have not received a response. Is it possible I am not placing it in the correct forum? Can anyone tell me what forum I should place it in?

I created a PP presentation and saved it as a HTML file. I uploaded it and it displays fine. And here comes the BUT..

I added some Custom Animations (i.e. arrows whose display I setup to be timed) but they are not working. They are already on display when the slide appears(i.e. they just lay there). Since I am using FrontPage is it possible to add VBScript code to correct the problem.

Is there something I can do in the code to get the timed displaying of the animation items to work?

I have seen PP slide shows with timed animations but I don't know how they got it to work.

Here is the URL if you would like to see my dilemma:

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

I don't believe the animations will work in an HTML format because they're made to work with PowerPoint. The only way you'll probably be able to use them is either to create a slide show and put that up or put up the presentation itself.

I think Linda is correct. In HTML you need something it can recognize directly. An alternative would be animated GIFs or Flash/Director Shockwaves. But that's easier said than just a mouse-click.

Also, I recommend you replace the SPACE in your URL with an underscore like this: NC_SlideShow, thus getting rid of the %20 which may make it incompatible with some browsers/clients.

I believe you are both right, I just did what PP suggested in their Help area. However they did not say timing displays would work under those cirumstances. They just said the PP show would display.

Thanks for the heads up Dave, I will make that change to the webpage name.

Much thanks to you both for your quick responses, If I find out anything I will publish it so everyone will know.

Hi Everyone

I promised I would publish the answer when I got it. It's funny how the answer is right in front of your face sometimes.

The animations were already working I just needed to: Push the PowerPoint slide show button in the bottom (it looks like a little TV)right corner. The app goes full screen and all animations worked.

To get the PP animations to work automatically: In PowerPoint go to Tools > Options. On the dialog shown in the 'General' tab there is a button 'Web Options'. Press this and you get another dialog. In the first tab 'General' there is a checkbox for 'Show slide animation while browsing'. Check this and then resave you presentation.

Thanks everyone I love the way everyone rises to the occasion when you present a problem.

All my Respect
