Connecting ERS8306 and ERS5530 using 2 Gigabit ports.
8306 is on VLAN35 and 36, and 5530 is on VLAN37
On the 8306, I put CLI as below:

MLT Id = 1
PortType = trunk
Name = Uplink connection
PortMembers = 5/7, 5/8
VlanIds = 1

What is the "VlanIds" parameter here mean exactly?

To allow traffic from VLAN35,36, and 37 to flow through this MTL, do I have to add 35,36,37 into the VlanIds parameter (VlanIds = 1,35,36,37)?

Thanks.

There is an easy way to configure your switch with the Nortel java device manager, this is free to download nortel.com => support & training => sofware downloads => Network Management => under switches & routers you will find a link java device manager.

you must put the two ports in a mlt configuration on both switches.
to have multiple vlans going over a trunk you have to enable tagging, for the 8300 this is done in the mlt configuration, for the 5500 this is don on port level.
then configure all required vlans on both switches and put the ports in their vlan (for access ports only one vlan is allowed).
configure all vlans on the mlts, for the 8300 this can be done in the mlt or port configuration, for the 5500 this is done in the port configuration.
for access ports (not tagged ports) the pvid MUST be equal to the vlan id, the pvid can be fount in port configuration vlan tab.
