Hey all,

I'm new to Linux and I'm in the process of trying to set up Apache. I get this message when I try to start Apache:

Syntax error on line 291 of /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf:
The port number " is outside the appropriate range (i.e., 1..65535).

What does that mean and what do I have to set it to? That address is correct for my network.

mtorbin,

In order to troubleshoot this problem, please provide a snippet of your httpd.conf that includes line 291.

It seems that you are supposed to only enter a port number in this httpd.conf file, not an entire IP address.
