I was looking around at some code and found this href assignment. Can someone tell me what each field means? I've never seen this before. I dont even know where to look it up.

href="/community/0,2659,,00.html"

Thanks,
MrsB

Hi,

I can tell you what the first part means:

href="/community/0,2659,,00.html"

- the first forward slash means the root directory of the web site
- community is the sub folder followed by another slash
- then the rest looks like the file name followed by plain .html

Hope this helps! NATE

href="/community/0,2659,,00.html"
So then these "," are just part of the file name?

Yes the commas are just part of the filename. I think. Pretty sure they are. It is just basic HTML file and not .php or .asp or .cfm (those can have wierd looking URL's) so I think that the commas are just part of the filename.

Hope this helps! NATE

The piece of code:

href="/community/0,2659,,00.html"

Giving a hyper refernce to some web page.

It is processing as follows:

Calling the root folder(directory) and then the folder community in the root directory and in last it must be the file name that should open from this hyper reference.

Good Luck! Momin ho to bay taigh bhee lerta hay sipahee
