I have been running the mksysb on a weekly basis. But I have been getting the following report;

Start time of backup Sat Nov 24 21:00:00 EET 2001 Loading medium from slot 6...
Creating information file (/image.data) for rootvg..
Creating tape boot image......
Creating list of files to back up..
Backing up 59898 files..............................
13641 of 59898 files (22%)..............................
31371 of 59898 files (52%)..........................
0512-038 mksysb: Backup Completed Successfully.
Unloading Tape to 6
Unloading medium to slot 6...

What does this mean? Does it mean that the mksysb did not complete? I have been search the answer to the following error for some time now without success (error 0512-038) I am running (F80) AIX v4.3.3.0. Please HELP!!

110877,

The message 0512-038 - this means that the mksysb completed successfully it always puts out this message after a successful backup.

You should always test mksysb's anyway, can you read from the tape i.e.

restore -s4 -Tvqf /dev/rmt0.1

It doesn't look like an error to me, just a report that the process completed sucessfully. I don't think it's anything you should be worried about, unless others have more info. of course!
