In a Cisco 7513 router with a VIP2 controller containing a Port Adapter, what does a value of "0x14" mean in the "Test history:" field in the "show diagbus <slot #>" command output? I've searched the Cisco web site, opened a question on Cisco's Q & A Forum, and asked local SEs but have not received a definitive answer. This was seen when we had a port adapter hardware failure. There was no indication of a fault (i.e. Syslog message) other than the protocol for the port would not stay "up" and CiscoView indicated a hardware failure. For sites without CisoView, how can they determine there is a hardware fault on the port adapter if there are no messages to indicate such. I had a co-worker tell me that a test history value other than 0x00 is a port adapter failure, but that was hearsay. Can anyone confirm?
