Hi I have a query in a report that I am analyzing and do not know what (+) does. I would think it means all records from the given table (b.vendor_cd) but I am not sure. I appreciate your input.

where a.plant = c.plant and
a.component = c.item and
a.vendor_cd = b.vendor_cd(+) and
a.plant = :pc_plant and
a.journal_type = :pc_journal_type and

Thank you for all your help

Tom

(+) indicates an outer join, one table is optional

a.vendor_cd = b.vendor_cd(+) and

will match every row in table a to a row in table b if it exists by vender_cd, but will still show rows in table a even if no row exists in table b with a vendor_cd that matches

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
