I have a 61c and the CPU column light is on. The only message I get on the terminal is OVL00021 alrm, which just indicate a system alarm and it tells me to log out of the system as soon as possible. I will say this, when I went into the switch room this morning it was hotter than hell, and I have called the a/c people. Do you think that column alarm is just a temp alarm? If so, is there any load I can run a command in to check something out or are there other things I should be considering.

New to this stuff and filling in for the main guy.

Thanks.

Your fans in the pedestal of the column may not be working. The red LED comes on when one of the sensors (fan & hi-temp) detect a condition. I'd say it's good chance that it's cooling issue. Try to see if the fans in that column that running.

it's not just the fans. you could have an analog phone card bad, shelf, modual issues and so on ..

that light is the powr monitor lite. ,,are you getting any bsd090's? or ced codes, maybe your fans need cleaned .(by vaccuuuming only)

Your system monitor card at the bottom of the column controls the light. chances are its the temp. possible bad sys mon card but I dought it.good luck
