Lindows.com Inc said it is selling its first notebook computer, with a retail price of $799, or half the cost of similarly equipped notebook computers from Apple, IBM and Toshiba

I haven't used it, but I'd expect more specs on a "Linux distro site" than dicker over a CF slot. They didnt even include what kind of video card they're using.

I just purchased an IBM R31 Laptop 1.13 Ghz Celeron with 256 MB RAM, a CD/RW, 13" Screen, built in NIC, 20 GB HD, 2 USB, 1 PCMCIA slot with XP Home for $799 new.

It now has Win2k pro and RH 8 on it.

Purchased from PC Connection. Love it. Perfect for me.

The only thing I added was an additional 256 MB of RAM.
