What do I need to access the printerport from VB4 /VB6 WM edition

How do I do to access the printer port from VB?<br>

Do I need a OCX, activX or something? Or do I have<br>

to do a API call?<br>

I would like to control some electronics equipment<br>

via the printerport, in basic for DOS I could use<br>

input but it doesn´t work in windows does it?
